Kalamkari - is a type of hand-painted or block-printed cotton textile produced in Isfahan, Iran, and in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Only natural dyes are used in Kalamkari, which involves twenty-three steps. In this style "kalam" or pen is used for freehand drawing of the subject and filling in the colors, is entirely hand worked. The style flourished in temples centered on creating unique religious identities, appearing on scrolls, temple hangings, chariot banners as well as depictions of deities and scenes taken from the Hindu epics.

Details and Finish : Please note that printed colours may vary slightly from your screen due to monitor settings and your chosen surface. Paper offers a smooth, crisp finish, while canvas adds texture and may subtly soften details.
Canvas prints arrive stretched and ready to hang. Unframed paper prints are rolled or flat-packed for framing. White borders are available by request before ordering.
